Tractor Speed Sensor Upgrade

Tractor Wheel Speed Sensor Installation Instructions

  1. Remove the right front tractor rim and tire and support the axle with blocking or
    stands.
  2. Remove the tractor fender as the 2 or 4 bolts that hold the fender mount to the
    steering knuckle will be used.
  3. Install the new Tractor Sensor Ring (A) with the DISH inward or towards the center of
    the tractor.
  4. Install 2 lug bolts or lug nuts to hold the ring in place for alignment and measuring
purposes. They do not need to be excessively tight.
  5. Place the large “L” bracket (B) with the 2 rows of vertical holes on top of the tractor
steering knuckle. On most tractors the vertical holes will go to the front of the axle.
Either have someone hold bracket (B) for you or clamp it in place for marking. Notice
the large “L” bracket (B) is longer than needed to allow for adjustment.
  6. Hold the small “L” bracket (C) to the front of the large “L” Bracket (B) and adjust it up
and down to find where the large Speed Sensor mounting hole best matches with any
holes on the Tractor Sensor Ring (A). Notice it is slotted for adjustment purposes.
Once the best location is found, mark it for mounting later.
  7. At the top of bracket (B) mark where the holes will need to be drilled for mounting it
to the tractor steering knuckle. Most customers use some or all of the fender
mounting bolts or holes. After drilling, you can place the fender on top of bracket (B)
sandwiching it between the fender mount and the steering knuckle.
  8. You may choose to cut off or remove any excess portion of bracket (B) and or bracket
(C). The parts were designed to fit all sizes/models of tractors and because of this
they are made larger than needed for some tractors.
  9. After drilling the holes and trimming if so desired, bolt bracket (B) to the steering
    knuckle.
  10. Mount the new Speed Sensor with the face of the sensor pointed away from the
SLOTS on the (C) bracket. The sensor face needs to view the holes on part (A) RING.
  11. Next, mount bracket (C) to bracket (B) using the 2 3/8” carriage bolts and nuts that
were provided. Using the 2 vertical rows of holes, adjust it up or down to find the best
alignment with part (A) Ring. GAP the sensor face approx. 3/8” away from the closest face
    of part (A) RING.
  12. On systems built prior to 2024, there is a Speed Sensor harness that is clamped and
zip-tied to the top of the boom right wing. Remove clamps and zip-ties and route that
harness rearward to the right side of the tractor. WATCH for pinch points and secure
    accordingly.
  13. Connect to the new Speed Sensor harness that was supplied.
  14. Reinstall tractor rim and tire. Torque to the tractor manufacturer specifications.
