Backup Generator Operator Instructions

  1. With the tractor engine turned off and key removed, open
    the right side door of the Weed Zapper Annihilator cart.
  2. Remove or unhook the HV cable from the LEFT or rear top
    terminal of the transformer.
  3. Open the control panel located to the left or rear of the
    transformer.
  4. There are 2 large contactors located in the control panel.
    Contactor #1 has 4 large BLACK cables a RED & WHITE (LINE)
    on the left side of the contactor BLUE & GREEN (LOAD) on the
    right side of the contactor. Contactor #2 only has 2 Large
    BLACK cables, a RED & WHITE (LINE) on the left side only. USE
    THE RIGHT SIDE OF THIS CONTACTOR #2!
  5. The user should route their cables through the holes on the
    right side of the panel that are not in use. Use either Cord
    Grips or Box connectors to prevent insulation damage to the
    cables. Than connect power cables to the #2 contactor.
  6. The RED & WHITE (LINE) cables are the 240vac lines. The 3rd
    terminal is the Neutral/Unit Ground terminal. Connect your
    power cables across the contactor from their prospective
    colors.
  7. The Red line to the White line will provide 240vac. The
    neutral or unit ground must be connected to the contactor as
    well or damage to electronic components WILL BE DAMAGED!
  8. Close and latch the Control panel.
  9. Close and latch the right side cart door.

Monitor Control Instructions

  1. Connect control monitor to tractor 12v power supply.
  2. Advance through monitor screens to the standard Weed
    Zapper run screen.
  3. Press the PINK arrow located in the bottom right corner of
    the run screen to advance.
  4. This is the Weed Zapper Diagnostic page, again press the
    pink advance arrow.
  5. This is the Selection page (Figure 1), press the button marked
    Backup Generator in the top right corner of the page.
  6. Once the selection has been made successfully, a backup
    generator safety screen (Figure 2) will appear. READ ALL
    INSTRUCTIONS! If you understand and agree with these terms
    and instructions, press the Acknowledge button at the bottom
    of this screen (Figure 2).
  7. Turn on tractor PTO and accelerate the engine to achieve
    1800 GEN RPM.
  8. The RED Disabled light will turn GREEN and read Ready.
    (Figure 3 & 4)
  9. Press the RED button in the bottom center of the page
    (Figure 3 & 4) marked “Press to Enable Standby Generator” The
    system is now active.
